Dear Dr Abda Aazeen

Elastography is a noninvasive method by USG to assess liver fibrosis by measuring liver stiffness. Many studies have compared elastography with percutaneous biopsy or CT guided biopsy. The advantage of laparoscopic biopsy is associated with decreased sampling error compared to percutaneous biopsy, FibroScan could be useful in many surgical unfit patient for detecting advanced stages of fibrosis when validated against laparoscopic liver biopsy.
