World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons has given advice to medical council of India to implement a new curriculum to be introduced for laparoscopic surgery during the residency program of surgeons and gynecologists. The computerized technology n da Vinci robotic surgical system allows a surgeon to manipulate laparoscopic instruments attached to robotic arms while viewing the procedure in 3 dimensional vision. Recently there were many cases were filed against Intuitive surgical and FDA was reconsidering this technology in da Vinci. The federal watchdog agency last year sent the warning letter after inspections of an Intuitive facility found 4 problems with how the company handled "field actions," or corrective actions taken when a problem is discovered with its da Vinci line of robotic surgery systems.

This disease is mostly a result of an appendiceal primary cancer or cancer in the appendix, mucinous tumors from the ovary are also implicated, although generally ovarian involvement is favored to be a metastasis from an appendiceal and other gastrointestinal source. Pseudomyxoma peritonei is a very rare type of cancer that usually begins in appendix as a small growth and it can start in other parts of the bowel, the ovary or bladder. This eventually spreads through the wall of appendix and spreads cancerous cells to the lining of the peritoneum. These cancerous cells produce mucus, which collects in the abdomen as a jelly like fluid called mucin.
