Considering the pain in your lower back and its spread to your leg, it is possible that you may have sciatica, which is a common condition. Sciatica occurs when there is pressure on the sciatic nerve, causing pain that radiates from the lower back down to the leg. Your medication and physiotherapy have helped reduce the leg pain, but pain in the lower back continues when sitting for long periods.

Possible Causes:

Herniated Disc: When a disc in the spine slips out and presses on the nerves.

Spinal Stenosis: Narrowing of the spinal canal, which puts pressure on the nerves.

Degenerative Disc Disease: Breakdown or problems in the spinal discs.

Muscle Strain: Strain or injury in the back muscles.

Treatment and Management:

Physiotherapy: Continue regular physiotherapy, including stretching and strengthening exercises.

Correct Posture: Maintain proper posture while sitting for long durations and take breaks to stand and walk.

H-ot and Cold Therapy: Use h-ot or cold packs on your back.

Pain Relievers: Use over-the-counter pain medications if advised by your doctor.

Weight Management: Follow a healthy diet and regular exercise to manage excess weight.

Ergonomics: Adjust your sitting position at work and home to be ergonomically correct.
