I have a problem with cervical fibroids. The doctor has advised me to undergo surgery. Which type of surgery would be better, and what are the possible complications of the surgery?

Cervical fibroids are non-cancerous growths in the cervix, the lower part of the uterus. When they cause symptoms like heavy bleeding, pain, or pressure, doctors often suggest surgery.
Types of Surgery for Cervical Fibroids:

Myomectomy:
This surgery removes only the fibroid, keeping the uterus in place. It is good for women who want to have children in the future. It can be done through:

Laparoscopy: Small cuts in the abdomen.

Hysteroscopy: Through the vagina and cervix.

Laparotomy: A larger cut in the abdomen, used for bigger fibroids.

Hysterectomy:
This removes the entire uterus. It is done if fibroids are large, very painful, or keep coming back. It is a permanent solution, but you will not be able to get pregnant after this.

Your doctor will choose the best type of surgery based on:

Size and number of fibroids.

Your age and health.

Whether you want to have children.

Possible Complications of Surgery:

Bleeding during or after surgery.

Infection at the surgery site.

Damage to nearby organs like the bladder or bowel.

Scarring in the uterus (can affect future pregnancy).

Need for further surgery if fibroids return (especially with myomectomy).

Longer recovery time with open surgeries like laparotomy.
