There is ample opportunity to learn laparoscopic surgeries. Laparoscopic training program is designed to ensure that the participants are able to do all the taught surgery themselves after training. This course is organized scientifically according to international protocol of laparoscopic education proven to learn Minimal Access Surgery. Thousands of surgeons and gynecologists from every corner of the world have been trained for essential and advanced laparoscopic skill. Laparoscopic training offered has an International recognition by World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons (WALS) and endorsed by many international organizations. The course is recognized by The Global Open University.

SAGES POSITION STATEMENT ON ADVANCED LAPAROSCOPIC TRAINING

The Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) recognizes the discipline of surgery is dynamic and continues to evolve. Modifications of standard surgical procedures are usually introduced gradually into clinical practice; a process that may require special training or privileges. Additional training, however, may be required to integrate techniques or procedures that are new to the individual surgeon or represent a substantial change in existing methods or practices or that require the mastery of new technology. The purpose of this document is to provide unifying guidelines for post-residency surgical education.

Laparoscopic training on bench models: better and more cost effective than operating room experience?

Developing technical skill is essential to surgical training, but using the operating room for basic skill acquisition may be inefficient and expensive, especially for laparoscopic operations. This study determines if laparoscopic skills training using simulated tasks on a video-trainer improves the operative performance of surgery residents.CONCLUSION was Intense training improves video-eye-hand skills and translates into improved operative performance for junior surgery residents. Surgical curricula should contain laparoscopic skills training.

A Virtual Environment Testbed for Training Laparoscopic Surgical Skills

With the introduction of minimally invasive techniques, surgeons must learn skills and procedures that are radically di#erent from traditional open surgery. Traditional methods of surgical training that were adequate when techniques and instrumentation changed relatively slowly may not be as efficient or effective in training substantially new procedures. Virtual environments are a promising new medium for training. This paper describes a testbed developed at the San Francisco, Berkeley, and Santa Barbara campuses of the University of California for research in understanding, assessing, and training surgical skills. The testbed includes virtual environments for training perceptual motor skills, spatial skills, and critical steps of surgical procedures. Novel technical elements of the testbed include a four degree-of-freedom haptic interface, a fast collision detection algorithm for detecting contact between rigid and deformable objects, and parallel processing of physical modeling and rendering. The major technical challenge in surgical simulation to be investigated using the testbed is the development of accurate real time methods for modeling deformable tissue behavior. Several simulations have been implemented in the testbed, including environments for assessing performance of basic perceptual motor skills, training the use of an angled laparoscope, and teaching critical steps of a common laparoscopic procedure, the cholecystectomy. The major challenges of extending and integrating these tools for training are discussed.
