Laparoscopic Suturing and Knotting Training at World Laparoscopy Hospital

 

 

During our Fellowship and diploma course we provide intensive practical practice of advanced laparoscopic suturing and knotting skills. The course is aimed at practicing surgeons, gynaecologists, pediatric surgeon and urologists, or consultants in any specialty who wish to refine their laparoscopic suturing and knotting skills. This is a two day intensive "hands on" practical training with personal tuition from experts. Participants are particularly encouraged to study effective needle handling and bite placement, and at the end of course they will be able to apply 12 types of interrupted and continuous suturing them self on their patients after intensive training on porcine tissue at ultramodern lab of World Laparoscopy Hospital.

The Fellowship and Diploma course is suitable for practicing surgeons and consultants working in general surgery, gynecology and urology.

"This course meets the guidelines as established in the "Framework for Post-Residency Surgical Education and Training" and is endorsed by various international organizations including WALS and ICRS. Admission is on first come first serve basis but if the applicant are more for same month candidate has to take online entrance exam. There will be one online entrance test and after qualifying this online entrance test, surgeons and gynecologists will be selected for this "Hands On" laparoscopic training course."

Course content:

  1. Tips of laparoscopic suturing and knotting
  2. Hands on training on porcine tissue
  3. Video sessions on laparoscopic suturing
  4. Close to reality application of laparoscopic instruments and equipment
  5. Operation theatre visit and live demonstration of laparoscopic suturing and knotting
  6. DVDs of Unedited videos of laparoscopic suturing will be given to candidates free of cost
  7. Laparoscopic enterotomy closure, gastrojejunostomy, colorectal anastomosis, and hepaticojejunostomy, Pyeloplasty, tubal recanalization, and use of suturing in Myoma surgery and hernia surgery.
  8. Use of newer automatic suturing instruments will be demonstrated
  9. Sutures and the surgeon safety and precaution will be emphasized
  10. Use of staplers in laparoscopic surgery
  11. Interrupted and continuous suturing techniques
  12. Intensive practical sessions of ergonomic of laparoscopic suturing
  13. Needle handling and bite placement in different type of suturing

  • Securing uterine pedicles with ligation for hysterectomy using laparoscopic suturing skill
  • Repair of bladder, bowel and ureteric injuries using laparoscopic suturing skill
  • Fixing mesh in prolapse surgery using laparoscopic suturing skill
  • Tubal reconstructive Surgery using laparoscopic suturing skill
