• Active Members, The requirements for active membership shall be:
  
   
  • A license to practice medicine in his/her state, province, or country.
     
  • A letter from the Chief of Surgery or Gynecology of the applicant's institution attesting to his/her competency in the field of Laparoscopy.
     
  • A letter of sponsorship from a current WALS member.
    
     
• Dues are $50 annually, with a one-time $10 application fee.

• The requirements for candidate membership status shall be:
  
   
  • Graduation from a medical school from any part of the world.
    
     
  • Current status as either:
    
     
    • A resident or fellow enrolled in an accredited program of surgical or Gynaecological education or research.
    • A surgeon or Gynaecologists who has completed an accredited surgical education program and is awaiting Board certification.
       
  • A letter from the Program Director of the applicant's institution attesting to enrolment in or completion of a surgical or gynaecological education program.
    
    
     
• Dues are $25 annually, no application fee.
