India's first da vinci robotic surgery for endometriosis was performed by Dr R. K. Mishra and his team of gynecologists at World Laparoscopy Hospital, Gurgaon on on 11th December 2011. da Vinci Robotic surgery for endometriosis is performed using the da Vinci Surgical System. Generally robotic surgery is performed for advanced surgery by Dr. R. K. Mishra has created a new era of application of robotic surgery for common diseases. Dr. Mishra has also demonstrated first live robotic endometriosus surgery via livestream direct webcast was done for this surgery. 234 Surgeons witnessed this surgery live webcast from 15 countries.

Endometriosis is really a gynecological medical condition in which cells from the lining of the uterus (endometrium) appear and flourish away from uterine cavity, most commonly on the ovaries. The uterine cavity is lined by endometrial cells, that are under the influence of female hormones. These endometrial-like cells in areas outside the uterus are relying on hormonal changes and respond in a way that is comparable to the cells found inside the uterus. Symptoms often worsen using the menstrual period. Endometriosis is typically seen during the reproductive years; it has been estimated that endometriosis happens in roughly 6-10% of women. Symptoms may rely on the condition and situation of active endometriosis. Its main but not universal symptom is pelvic pain in various manifestations. Endometriosis is a very common finding in women with infertility.

Endometriosis can lead to problems of infertility. Not all women, especially those with mild endometriosis, will have infertility. da vinci surgery to remove scarring related to the condition may help improve chances of becoming pregnant. If it does not, fertility treatments should be considered. Other complications of endometriosis include: chronic pelvic pain that interferes with social and work activities Large endometriomas that may break rupture. In a few cases, endometriosis implants may cause blockages of the gastrointestinal or urinary tracts. Very rarely, cancer may develop in the areas of endometriosis after menopause.

da Vinci robot is a state-of-the-art surgical platform that provides surgeons with 3D, high definition vision of the patient’s anatomy and its patented instruments provides a range of motion far beyond the abilities of the human hand during endometriosis surgery. By overcoming the limits of both traditional open and laparoscopic surgery, da Vinci is changing the experience of endometriosis surgery for people around the world.

The da Vinci Surgical Method is a robotic surgical system produced by Intuitive Surgical and made to facilitate complex gynecological surgery employing a non-invasive approach. The equipment is controlled with a surgeon from a console. It's popular for prostatectomies, and increasingly for cardiac valve repair and gynecologic surgical procedures. The da Vinci System consists of a surgeon’s console that is typically within the same room because the patient and a patient-side cart with four interactive robotic arms controlled within the console. Three from the arms are for tools that hold objects, act as a scalpel, scissors, bovie, or unipolar or dipolar electrocautery instruments. Your fourth arm is perfect for an endoscopic camera with two lenses that provides the surgeon full stereoscopic vision from the console. Choices sits in the console and appears through two eye holes at a 3-D picture of the procedure, meanwhile maneuvering the arms with two foot pedals and two hand controllers.

The da Vinci System scales, filters and translates the surgeon's hand movements into more precise micro-movements of the instruments, which operate through small incisions in your body. In line with the da Vinci Product is called "da Vinci" partly "because Leonardo da Vinci invented the initial robot", and also because he used anatomical accuracy and three-dimensional details to bring his actively works to life. To perform a procedure, choices uses the console’s master controls to maneuver the patient-side cart’s Three or four robotic arms (depending on the model), which secures the instruments along with a high-resolution endoscopic camera.

The instruments’ jointed-wrist design exceeds natural range of motion from the human hand; motion scaling and tremor reduction further interpret and refine the surgeon’s hand movements. The da Vinci System incorporates multiple, redundant safety features designed to minimize opportunities for human error in comparison to traditional approaches. Never could be the surgical robot in control or autonomous; it operates on a "Master:Slave" relationship, the surgeon being the "Master" and also the robot being the "Slave." The da Vinci System continues to be made to improve upon conventional laparoscopy, where the surgeon operates while standing, using hand-held, long-shafted instruments, with no wrists. With conventional laparoscopy, choices must lookup and in the instruments, to some nearby 2D video monitor to see a picture of the target anatomy. The surgeon must also rely on his/her patient-side assistant to put the digital camera correctly.

In comparison, the da Vinci System’s ergonomic design allows choices to operate from a seated position at the console, with eyes and hands positioned in line using the instruments. To maneuver the instruments in order to reposition your camera, choices simply moves his/her hands. By giving surgeons with superior visualization, enhanced dexterity, greater precision and ergonomic comfort, the da Vinci Surgical System enables more surgeons to do non-invasive procedures involving complex dissection or reconstruction during endometriosis surgery. For that patient, a da Vinci process could offer all of the potential advantages of a minimally invasive procedure, including less pain, less hemorrhaging and less requirement of blood transfusions. Moreover, the da Vinci System can enable a shorter stay in hospital, a quicker recovery and faster go back to normal day to day activities.
